Former U.S. President and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Jimmy Carter joined forces with CSI volunteers to build homes to help low-income families realize the dream of homeownership in South Los Angeles and San Pedro.
As part of the Jimmy Carter Work Project 100 houses will be built or rehabilitated in these communities by the end of this year. Now in its 25th year, the Jimmy Carter Work Project (JCWP) is a build event that takes place in a different location around the world each year. This is the first JCWP seeking LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification, making the homes more sustainable and affordable for the partner families.
