Olinda – Landfill Gas to Energy Project

Energy:

Because methane is over 20 times more effective in trapping heat in the atmosphere than carbon dioxide, reducing such emissions can have a significant impact on greenhouse gases. Repurposed methane is therefore a breakthrough green energy technology generating electricity while reducing carbon emissions.

CSI Electrical Contractors recently provided and installed a distribution power infrastructure for the new Olinda Landfill Gas to Energy facility. Our work on this quick-turn project included installation of all power and controls for the new landfill gas compressors, heat recovery steam generators, and other associated systems and support equipment.

The Olinda Landfill facility compresses landfill gas to power four generators; in turn, the heat these generators produce is used to create steam which fuels an additional generator. Ultimately, this methane-to-energy solution delivers more than 30 megawatts of electrical power to the city of Anaheim, California.
